Hello! I’m Cole Novak, an award-winning writer and digital marketing professional with 10+ years of experience. I currently serve as the Web Content Editor and in-house photographer at San Diego Magazine, where I lead digital strategy, develop original storytelling, and produce photography for both print and digital channels.

 

I’ve worked across editorial, agency, and in-house environments. At CourtAvenue—named one of Adweek’s “Fastest Growing Agencies” in 2023—I supported Fortune 500 brands including Kia, Mazda, Qualcomm, Epson, and Dell.

 

Outside of my editorial and marketing work, I’m a Part 107 certified drone pilot and visual storyteller. My creative experience includes photography, videography, and film production, rooted in my time with the SDSU Film Society while earning a marketing degree at San Diego State. Since then, I’ve partnered with nonprofits, small businesses, and community organizations to support their missions through meaningful storytelling.

 

At the core of my work is a drive to create content that is useful, thoughtful, and grounded in connection. Whether building digital strategies for brands or documenting people in my community, I aim to elevate stories that matter.
