Welcome! I’m Cole Novak, an award-winning writer and digital marketing professional with nearly a decade of experience. I currently serve as Web Content Editor and in-house photographer for San Diego Magazine, where I lead digital strategy, create original content, and produce photography for both print and digital platforms.

My career has spanned editorial, agency, and in-house roles. At CourtAvenue—named one of Adweek’s “Fastest Growing Agencies” in 2023—I supported Fortune 500 clients including Kia, Mazda, Qualcomm, Epson, and Dell. My expertise lies in modernizing digital content, optimizing user experiences, and crafting strategic communications that connect brands with their audiences. I bring a versatile background in SEO, e-commerce, UX, paid media, and content strategy.

Outside of work, I’m a Part 107 certified drone pilot and passionate visual storyteller. My creative background includes photography, videography, and film production, with roots in the SDSU Film Society during my time earning a Marketing degree at San Diego State. Since then, I’ve collaborated with nonprofits, small businesses, and community-driven projects—offering creative support through meaningful storytelling.
